Who runs this site
This website is owned and operated by Camelot PTA, an independent parent-teacher organization. Camelot PTA is its own entity and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official part of Camelot Elementary or Orange County Public Schools. This is not an official school or school-district website, and any reference to the school is here for community information only.
What we collect
There are no accounts to create here and no payment details are entered on this site. There are no comment sections. The only thing a visitor can leave publicly is a reaction on a post or event, and reactions are stored as anonymous totals that are never tied to a person.
Our forms are the exception, and only because you choose to fill them in. If you use our contact form or volunteer sign-up, what you write is emailed to the PTA and is not kept in a database on this website. If you write to us through our sponsorship enquiry form, what you send is stored in our admin so the board can read it and reply, including a logo file if you attach one; that file is kept privately and is never published unless we agree a sponsorship with you. In every case we use what you send for one purpose: so somebody from Camelot PTA can get back to you. Ask us and we will delete it.
When you send a form we also keep a scrambled one-way code made from your internet address for two days. It is what stops one person submitting a form hundreds of times. It cannot be turned back into your address and it is deleted automatically.
Counting visits for our sponsors
Local businesses support this school, and a business that supports us fairly asks what came of it. So this site keeps a simple count of how often each sponsor's page was read, how often their logo appeared, and how often somebody followed a link from us to them. We share those totals with that sponsor.
This is our own counter and it involves no advertising company. It records four numbers per business per day and nothing else: there is no visitor record behind them, no address, no cookie, no profile, and no way for us to tell a sponsor who visited them, because we never knew. We count an event and forget it.
Google Analytics
This site also uses Google Analytics to understand how families find and use our pages — which pages get read, which events people look up, whether a fundraiser page is reaching anyone. It records the address of the page visited, the page that referred you, your approximate location at city level, and general device and browser information. It is not tied to a name. We do not use it to identify individual visitors, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
Our Faculty Favorites pages are excluded from analytics entirely, because their addresses name individual members of school staff.
Most browsers offer a Do Not Track or analytics-blocking setting, and Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics on every site you visit.
Names and photographs on this site
We do not collect or publish personally identifying information about parents or visitors without their permission. Names appear on this site in three places, and only with the permission of the person named:
- our supporters and sponsors pages, where a family or business has chosen to be listed by name rather than anonymously;
- the About page, which lists the volunteers serving on the Camelot PTA board and its committees;
- our blog, where a post may credit the person or committee who wrote it.
Photographs of children
We do not publish photographs that identify a child. Where a child appears in a photograph we use, the image is obscured so that the child cannot be identified. This applies everywhere on this site — the gallery, blog posts, event pages and social tiles alike. There is no exception to it.
Asking us to remove something
Teachers, school staff, volunteers and parents may have a photograph, or any personally identifying reference to them, removed from this site at any time. You do not have to give a reason. Please email camelot.pta@gmail.com, or speak to any member of the Camelot PTA board, and we will take it down.
Cookies
We use a small number of functional cookies to keep the site working — for example, to remember a reaction you have left so it is not double-counted, and to keep board members signed in to the admin area. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or to track you across other websites. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, though some features may stop working if you do.
Donations
Donations are handled entirely by the third-party service our board has chosen. When you give, you are taken to that provider's own site to complete the payment, and everything you enter there is handled under their privacy policy, not ours. No payment details are entered on this website.
Links to other websites
This site links to websites operated by our donation partners, the school, and other third parties. Camelot PTA did not build those sites and does not control them. A link is not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for the content, privacy practices or accuracy of any site we link to. Once you follow a link away from CamelotPTA.com, that destination's own terms and privacy policy apply.
